Become a Food Donor

You have surplus food that you don’t want to waste.

Let us connect it to those who need it most.

No matter how big or small, every donation makes a difference. Join the growing network of businesses that are committed to increasing healthy food access for our neighbors.

If you’re a restaurant, farm, small business, grocery store, agency, or business that ever has surplus food - we should connect. Our team can help you easily redirect food away from the landfill and into your community - we provide the logistics, volunteers provide the power, and you help end food waste while increasing food access for our neighbors.

We keep food local and close to its source, matching rescued food with nonprofit partners who can connect it to the families who need it most.

By mobilizing efforts across our community - from donors, to volunteers, to nonprofit partners - we can make sure that good food ends up on tables, not in landfills.

Working across sectors, Lakeshore Food Rescue captures food from donors, directing it away from landfills and into communities.

Worried about liability?

The Bill Emerson Food Donation Act protects businesses from any liability for food donations as long as the food is donated to a non-profit organization and in good faith that it is safe to eat. You can find more information here.
